Our A1 Slovenian course stands out for its method: we combine language learning with immersion in Slovenian culture, traditions, food, nature walks, visits to local producers, and real-life practice such as shopping, getting fuel, ordering coffee, and more.

How It Works

10 Weeks, 40 Hours of Lessons

20 hours of intensive study divided into 5 meetings in Volčji Grad (1 full weekend at the beginning, 1 at the end, and an additional full Saturday in the middle).

The expected duration is 6–8 hours on Saturdays and 4 hours on Sundays.

Course A

Saturday 21 / Sunday 22 February; Saturday 14 March; Saturday 11 / Sunday 12 April 2026. Online lessons will be scheduled based on participants' availability.

Course B

Saturday 18 / Sunday 19 April; Saturday 9 May; Saturday 23 / Sunday 24 May. Online lessons will be scheduled based on participants' availability.

Teachers

Martina Kafol, editor, writer, TV author; she teaches Slovenian drawing on extensive experience in foreign-language teaching, technical and literary translation. In her Karst home she has led workshops on geomancy, forest meditation, intuitive writing, and traditional cooking.

Nina Bonifacio, language teacher. She holds a Master's degree in linguistics from Ca' Foscari University in Venice and a Master's in Slovenian studies from the University of Nova Gorica. She specializes in teaching Slovenian to adults and children.
